That’s right, there was one more character from the website banner you hadn’t met yet!

This is Sam[antha], and she’s…she’s a lot of fun. Also, please note that the above methods are NOT an effective story generation technique for desperate journalists. Unless it works, in which case it totally is and you have to put my name in the “with files from” bit at the end there. These are the files.

DALE and ANGIE are sitting in the shawarma shop, half-eaten shawarma platters in front of them.
DALE: Look, I know we’re drowning our sorrows in garlic sauce right now…
ANGIE: Yup.
DALE: But can we please talk about how we don’t even have a story?!
Panel Two
ANGIE: (sigh)
DALE: What are we going to do, print “nothing happened, and then no one would talk to us about it?”
ANGIE: Probably wouldn’t be the first time.
DALE: We have a lot of space in the paper riding on this, not to mention it’s actually important. What are we gonna do, just eat shawarma until a relevant and timely story magically appears out of nowhere?
Panel Three
SAMANTHA, offscreen: HEY. EVERYONE IN HERE NEEDS TO PAY ATTENTION. Come outside to the Human Rights statue and BEAR WITNESS to the revolutionary protest taking place right now!!! The SANDS OF HISTORY ARE ERODING THE FOUNDATIONS of the STATUS QUO and anyone who ignores the changing tides will be LEFT BEHIND while we MARCH FORWARD.

ANGIE and DALE look at each other in amused surprise; DALE looks annoyed.
DALE, pointing at ANGIE: Shut up.
