Sorry for the delay on this one, but here it is, on a Tuesday, as promised!

Yes, those are city councilors Catherine McKenney, Jean Cloutier and Jeff Leiper next to the mayor. Apologies to all of them for their slightly wonky appearances–I’m still getting used to the new tablet!

Panel One

HEADER READS: Bank Street, later that day

ANGIE and DALE are squished in a crowd of people on a crowded #7 bus.

DALE: It is grotesquely ironic that our bus didn’t show up to take us to the council meeting on underserved transit routes.

ANGIE: What’s grotesque is that you’re a newspaper editor who apparently learned English from Alanis Morrissette. That’s not what irony is.

Panel Two

ANGIE: …But yeah, this sucks.

DALE: We’re gonna be so late, and I can barely bal—aaahhh!

The bus lurches and Dale almost falls, but Angie grabs him by the shoulder and he keeps his balance—barely.

Panel Three

ANGIE: Gotcha!

Dale: Thanks.

ANGIE: This is pretty nuts. I think these crowds are even worse than last fall.

DALE: Yeah—this has to be the biggest thing on everyone’s mind on city council.

Panel Four

HEADER READS: Meanwhile, at city council…

We see JIM WATSON, CATHERINE MCKENNEY, JEFF LEIPER and JEAN CLOUTIER sitting in their chairs in the ANDREW K. HAYDEN ROOM.

JEAN CLOUTIER, thought balloon: If we stopped upkeeping the heritage wing of City Hall, maybe we could knock IT down to build condos, too!

CATHERINE MCKENNEY, thought balloon: I wonder if it’s too late to use the name-ambiguity to politely con my way into federal cabinet.

JIM WATSON, thought balloon: Ha! Nobody’s noticed my sash says “MAYO”!

JEFF LEIPER: I bet I could totally pass a motion to rename it to “Bestboro”.
